Join Biola in celebrating Steve Bridges' life

Mar. 15, 2012 By Jenna Bartlo

Biola alumnus ('86) Steve Bridges passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48 on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Bridges was known around the world for his impersonations of U.S. Presidents, particularly George W. Bush. He was a frequent guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" during the Bush administration.

Bridges performed at Biola’s Legacy Gala in 2007 impersonating George W. Bush and had remained friends with Biola throughout his growing career. Friend and fellow comedian, alumnus Adam Christing, remembered Bridges in blog post the week after his passing.

“Steve's final impression is not anybody else's voice,” he wrote. “It's his own. A voice of love and laughter in the world.”

The life of the infamous comedian and political impersonator will be celebrated Sat., March 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. in a memorial service at Biola. The service will be held in Sutherland Hall on campus.

I am interested in obtaining a DVD or the memorial service for Steve Bridges. As a former Biola employee (15 years in Student Affairs), and student, I knew Steve, very well. He was a great Resident Assistant, but most of all, a Godly man. His family referred to him in their notice of his cuase of death as, our precious, Steve. How much more is he precious to his Savior. Thank you for your consideration of my request.
