LA MIRADA, CALIF. — Biola University alumnus and Vine sensation Zach King is slated to speak at the 18th Annual Biola Media Conference (BMC) on May 3, 2014. Having been recently featured on The Ellen Show for his Vine popularity, Zach King will speak on his experiences in the media world as the “Final Cut King” — a name he’s made for himself online.

The conference will shift from an emphasis on last year’s theme of “Great Directors” to explore the theme of “Great Producers.”

“Producers are really the anchor of any film,” said King. “At the end of the day, the producers are kind of the ones that made it happen and tied the strings together.”

BMC welcomes some of the most successful producers in television and film, invites top-notch industry professionals and encourages film students and professionals to excel in the industry.

On January 29, 2014, King was a featured guest on The Ellen Show whom Ellen called the “Top Viner.” King has also been featured on, as well as, hired by YouTube, and he is currently helping film a commercial in Spain for a U.S. national brand.

Graduating in 2012 with a degree in cinema and media arts, King has since made a name for himself in the industry.

“I think one of the things I’m really grateful for is the fact that I got a solid foundation in what I believe, and that foundation is what is honestly probably keeping me afloat while doing all this,” said King.

Once a student working the BMC conference, King desires to pass along his knowledge about the media world.

“I would say work really hard and also work smart. Your craft has to stand out and that means putting in the hours,” he said.

The Biola Media Conference will take place at CBS Studio Center in Studio City, Calif. The following industry experts are slated to lead sessions at the conference:

Dan Lin, Producer of “Sherlock Holmes” (I and II), “Gangster Squad” and “The Lego Movie”
