MUSIC CONFERENCE - WITH LIVING COMPOSERS! On October 9, over 75 music composers will arrive on campus for the 2014 National Conference of the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC). This is the largest organization of its kind in the world, and this will be the largest conference that it has ever held. Members live in nearly every state, and represent many careers including studio artists, music faculty, and media professionals.
This year's keynote speaker is renowned European composer, Ivan Moody; other special guests include the Cadillac Moon Ensemble, Ensemble Christo LA, The Paul Delgado Singers, Paul Barnes, Richard Zeller, and many others. Conference participants will present their original music in a total of twelve concerts held between Thursday afternoon and Saturday night. October 11 will feature a panel discussion between several prominent Christian film composers; the panel will feature JAC Redford, Jonathan David Neal, Mike Watts, and moderator David Martina.
All events are free, apart from the three evening concerts and the Friday banquet at which Ivan Moody will give his keynote address. This event is being sponsored jointly by Biola University, Biola Conservatory of Music, the Center for Christianity, Culture, and the Arts , and the Torrey Honors Institute .
