GREENVILLE, SC --- On Tuesday morning the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced its acceptance of Biola University as a new member beginning the 2017-18 academic year.

Membership in the NCCAA will allow Biola Athletics to come alongside other like-minded institutions to compete in postseason competition during the two remaining years of the Eagles’ provisional membership period in the NCAA Division II.

“We are thrilled to join the NCCAA and become a partner with such a fantastic, Christ-centered organization,” said Dr. Bethany Miller, Director of Athletics. We are so pleased that they accepted our application, and we look forward to being able to provide an exciting postseason opportunity to our student-athletes. The NCCAA is an organization that aligns closely with the mission and values of Biola, and we could not be happier than to have the opportunity to come alongside them in this way.”

Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, the NCCAA strives to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ through its 24 National Championships and one National Invitational. For more information on the NCCAA, contact the NCCAA National Office at (864) 250-1199 or visit www.thenccaa.org.

Biola will join the NCCAA Division I and compete in the West Region. The West Region also includes some familiar names in Life Pacific, Bethesda and Providence Christian College.

Biola will begin NCCAA competition next fall when its teams have the opportunity to compete in regional playoff action after completing a full regular season NCAA Division II and PacWest Conference schedule.
